If you don't call it “great”, you're doing something wrong

Two days at the WMF fair with the whole team. Tired, sweaty, and sure of one thing: if you do startups and you don't find it great, there's a problem.

Oh my dear founder…

WMF, We Make Future, is done for another year. Great to be at the fair with the whole play2match team. Great to see lots of new people and familiar faces come to our desk to compliment us: it means we're doing a little something right, and that we're telling the story well too.

Great to see people hyped about our crowdfunding, at times even more hyped than me. And great to play Pitch Volley, our sports networking format, with Vero Volley and Winx Club France.

The lesson

A fair is exhausting: on your feet all day, the same explanation repeated a hundred times. But if you decide to do startups and you don't call what you do “great”, folks, you're getting a little something wrong.

That doesn't mean it's always easy. It means the effort has to make sense. Ours is helping people meet through sport, and at a fair you see it happen right in front of you. If you want to try it, the matches are here.

What does Simone take away from it?

If what you do doesn't feel great to you, effort becomes just effort. Compliments from people who come back count double: it means you're communicating well too. Networking works better with a ball in the middle.
